Romans 8:21
21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
I Corinthians 12:7-10 speaks of this very thing.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
John 14:12
12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also (as individuals) ; and greater works than these he will do (because its the whole body of Christ), because I go to My Father.
Colossians 1:27
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
John 15:5
5 "I (Jesus) am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Jeremiah 17:5
5 Thus says the LORD: " Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD.
What symbolized this for man was
the folded napkin which had been used to cover the Lord's face in the grave. It was not laid with the rest of the
grave clothes, but was folded by itself to draw the attention of those who came to the tomb to minister to His dead body.
John 20:7
7 and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
What was He trying to show us? What did it mean? Let us take a closer look. What is interpreted in this scripture as "handkerchief" was actually, according to Strongs, the Greek dictionary,
a sweat cloth. After He rose, He folded it neatly and laid it aside. Was He not showing man he would
no longer have to fret and figure things out for himself?
Hebrews 4:9-10
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Still, the folding of the cloth had yet another meaning as well. It was symbolic of the
removal of that part of man's curse that God had spoken over Adam for his disobedience, stating he would have to sweat and toil to eat.
Genesis 3:17-19
17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': " Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.
18 Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field.
19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."
So you see, because
Christ fulfilled all things required of Him before the cross, then at the cross, and now, it is
Christ through us, all we have to do is
rest in God's plan. This should be quite easy, but how do we tap into the plan of God? You see,
when we are born again our spirits are directly connected to the mind of Christ. We may be babies as far as knowing how to walk this way. But it can easily be done "if" we can relax,
enter His rest, and actually trust that God loves us and
cares enough to direct us. He will open doors no man can close, He will create circumstances we are not capable of creating. Adam for example, before the fall, named all the different species of creatures, because
he was connected through his spirit to the mind of Christ. We have the same ability today
when born again, but it will take
faith in God and practice to use this ability and
rest in His promise to
intervene on our behalf.
Paul said it this way in Romans 8:38 and 39.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hebrews 4:11
11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. (of old Israel)
